Cruising with friends on the Norwegian Dawn Day 6

We pulled into port this morning to an overcast sky, but the forecast was calling for sunny skies and a high of 82°.  We had been to Cozumel on several other cruises.  One of my favorite times in Cozumel was in February 2012.  We participated in an excursion called Salsa and Salsa and had a great time learning to make a number of salsa as well as two very good margaritas.  Today though, we decided to just take a leisurely walk downtown and stop somewhere along the way to have lunch.

Day 6-3

Everyone decided to go in different directions.  Ron and Connie decided to come along with Randy and me.  Half way down the pier it started to sprinkle a little so we hurried to get under cover.  We made it to a souvenir shop and spent a few minutes looking around until the skies cleared.

Ron was interested in finding a Harley Davidson store because he wanted to buy a tee shirt for his son.  We walked and walked but to no avail.  However, we did spot a Ron Jon store at the end of our walk and he was able to find just what he was looking for.

By this time we had walked about a mile and a half and Connie was thirsty.  One of our favorite spots to stop, Mr. Chile’s was quite a distance back towards the pier so we stopped at the first inviting restaurant we saw along the street.

Tiki Tok was great.  The guys got beer while Connie and I got Cokes.  After talking to our waiter, we decided to get one order of nachos and share.  The nachos were very good but the salsa was even better.

We headed back towards the pier and stopped at Starbucks so I could get a Chai and Randy could take advantage of the Wi-Fi and check in.  There was a great deal of activity because there were several ships in port.  People were bustling here and there buying gifts and souvenirs.  As we sat there enjoying yet another beautiful sunny day I had to smile as I looked at the beautiful nativity scene that was close by.  It was nice to see the real reason for the season so prominently placed in a commercial setting.  I enjoyed watching as many visitors, shoppers took the time to stop and enjoy this beautiful scene.

Tonight was our second Norwegian’s Night Out (code for formal night) so back to the ship for a short rest, get cleaned up, dressed and join our friends in the dining room.  I know that I have not spent much time talking about the food on this ship.  I will say that the food was very good but lacked presentation.  Consequently, I did not take many pictures of the dishes I chose each evening.  After dinner we went to the Grand Atrium to have a formal photo.  We were, after all, a beautiful and handsome group!

Randy and I skipped the show opting instead to just walk around the ship, stop by the stores.  Eventually, we made our way to the Spinnaker Lounge to find out exactly what Bandaoke with Great Idea was all about.  It turned out to be Karaoke but with a band.  The band played the songs while the singers read from song sheets.  Several of the participants were really good.

It had been a long day so we headed back to our cabin.

Tomorrow is our last day and we will be at sea.

It has been great viewing our trip on your blog. I have forwarded it to my daughter and my son and his wife. Thanks for doing that. Ron and I could not keep a camera on us for some reason. Connie
